Q: What is online self-study? How does that differ from traditional Instructor-led Training (ILT)?
A. Online self-study is a form of e-learning over the Internet. Students are given access to Web-playable recordings created from the same course materials as our instructor-led classes. The online self-study delivery option provides the flexibility for students to attend BEA courses from anywhere and at any time as long as the student has access to a computer with high-speed broadband access and the computer is equipped with speakers and a sound card to listen to the recorded audio playback

Q: How will online self-study benefit me?
A. Online self-study offers an alternative to the traditional ILT training method. You get the same great course materials at the convenience of your time and place of choice:

  • Learn at your own pace - in your own place!
  • No travel hassles - no jet lag, no delayed flight due to weather, no uncomfortable hotels
  • Save time and resources from no travelling
  • Feel connected to your own daily life as you learn about new software
  • Get trained on focused and modular courseware for better understanding and absorption

Q: How do I register for an online self-study course?
A. You can sign up for an online self-study course online via your local BEA Education Services website or by contacting your local BEA Education Services team.

Q: For how long will I have access to the course?
A. Access for the courses is limited to a specific number of days and visits, depending on which course it is you are taking.

Q: What hardware/software requirements do I need to access a self-paced course?
A. You will need a computer with broadband Internet connection and equipped with speakers and a sound card to listen to the recorded audio playback with the following minimum requirements:

Q: What if I need to cancel?
A. Your registration may only be cancelled prior to BEA Education Services receiving and authorizing your payment details. Once access has been granted to the course, no refund is available.


Instructor-led Training over the Web (Virtual Classroom)

Q. What is virtual classroom? How does that differ from traditional Instructor-led Training (ILT)?
A: Virtual classroom is a form of ILT classes using an on-line classroom environment that provides real-time interaction with a certified BEA instructor. Virtual classes include lecture, hands-on labs, and demonstrations that utilizes existing BEA Education content The virtual classroom delivery venue will provide the flexibility for students to attend BEA courses from anywhere as long as the student, and the instructor, have access to a computer with high-speed broadband access and a dedicated phone line to access the live training environment.

Q. How will virtual classroom benefit me?
A: Virtual classroom offers an alternative to the traditional ILT training method. You get the same great instructors and course materials with the convenience of your location of choice:

  • Interactive environment means you don't miss out on the human touch
  • No travel hassles - no jet lag, no delayed flight due to weather, no uncomfortable hotels
  • Save time and resources from no travelling
  • Feel connected to your own daily life as you learn about new software
  • Get trained on focused and modular courseware for better understanding and absorption

Q. How do I sign up for virtual classroom offerings?
A: The virtual classes that are available can be found on your local BEA Education Services website.

Q. How many days are required to sign up for a virtual class?
A: We encourage you to register as early as possible to secure your seat. If you register within five days of the class start date, you may not receive your printed course materials before the class begins.

Q. What are the hours of the virtual classes?
A: Virtual classes are scheduled to normally start at 9 a.m. CET and will usually run for the rest of the day, just like a our other instructor-led courses.

Q. What hardware and/or software requirements do I need to run virtual classroom?
A: You will need a phone that can dial into an AT&T reservationless number, which will be provided in your registration confirmation e-mail. You also will need a computer with the following specifications:

Q. Will I need BEA software on my computer to access the labs?
A: No. The remote lab environment will provide all you need to complete the labs. All your computer needs is a dedicated Internet connection to access the live training environment.

Q. Can I continue to experiment with the labs once the class has finished?
A: No, the lab environment is available only for the duration of the course. You may install the BEA software and labs onto your local computer (if it has all the requirements) but this would be considered outside the scope of the class.

Q. How will the instructor see what I am doing in the labs so that help can be provided if I run into a problem?
A: The lab environment allows the instructor to view your particular environment.

Q. How much does it cost? What else do I have to pay for?
A: Virtual classes are priced at the same rate as ILT classes. The price of the class includes course materials, course delivery, and usage of software applications that enable the delivery. You will also be provided with a toll-free number for the audio connection.

Q. What if BEA cancels or reschedules a virtual class?
A: BEA reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class at any time. If a virtual class is cancelled or rescheduled, BEA will attempt to notify students five business days prior to the scheduled class start date. You will receive a full refund of fees paid for a cancelled virtual class. However, BEA assumes no financial liability for any cancellation fees you may incur.

Q. What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
A: You can cancel or reschedule an original registration for a class up to at least seven calendar days prior to a class start. Cancellations made 1-6  calendar days prior to a class start are subject to a 50% cancelation fee. If you do not provide BEA with notice of intent to cancel or reschedule and fail to attend the class for which you registered, you are not entitled to any refund of your payment.
