Until recently, it has been necessary to bring RFID-tagged items to a reader location. The BEA WebLogic RFID Edge Mobile SDK allows your employees to go to wherever assets are located and record critical information on the spot using hand-held, mobile readers. BEA's RFID platform then delivers these inputs as services to Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)–based solutions such as the BEA WebLogic RFID Enterprise Server and the BEA WebLogic RFID Edge Server.

The BEA WebLogic RFID Edge Mobile SDK includes industry-standard Application Program Interfaces (APIs) and libraries that enable developers to rapidly write applications for mobile RFID devices. The SDK also includes a sample application that developers can use out of the box to create proof-of-concept applications or prototypes, or customize to meet enterprise-specific requirements.
